Her brow furrows and she watches quietly. That Rani will not look to her, and those words, gives her some idea of what it might be. Either something that condemned Magni herself, or a confession that Rani was deeply unhappy, that Talonhold could no longer be her home.
It occurs to her that they are both standing soaked through, when there are ample supplies for the fire. One of Krogstad's many duties in running the house was coordinating that the needs of the other staff be met. He loved to make metaphors of Talonhold as not being so different as a ship and her crew, and it would seem that he had not neglected in ensuring it was seen to that the different ground and game keeping lodges about the estate were sufficiently stocked with dry wood. Food would likely be entirely lacking, but perhaps if they were lucky some dried meats or fruits could be found.
She doesn't yet move, and the hand not holding Rani's chin drops to take one of her hands, and brings it to rest over Magni's heart, holding it there, fingers entwined. There is a long pause, as she tries to school her words together into something that makes sense. "I would sooner hurt and share the burden than abandon you to it alone."
