Her arms wrap around her Rani's waist - or, rather, they wrap around her ribs, Magni leaning down to better enable it, pressing a kiss to Lakshmi's shoulder. Lingering, staying close, wanting to trail her kisses along Lakshmi's shoulder and neck and resisting the urge, nuzzling against her cheek instead.
Thank you, it says, and you're wonderful and I adore you. Easily given affection and appreciation. She's fairly sure that if she had been the one to deal with this party alone, she might have made excuses to retreat to her quarters as often as it might be acceptable for a host to disappear, and she would have been ragged by the end of it. It is more than that, of course; Lakshmi is wondrous, a fated gift that she is not wholly sure she deserves, but that she is incredibly grateful for. In part she is silent because what can she say that will do justice to all the things Lakshmi does for Talonhold, for their people, for her?
Magni stays close, enjoying the cool of the night air and the gentle breeze, the scent of apple blossom in the air and the sound of a fountain bubbling.
It's almost enough to make her forget. Leaning head back against her shoulder, leaning her body back into her to settle into the crooks and curves of her. Much as she only came to her shoulder, it never did much other than make her feel secure.
"Content?"
She ventures, mild, eyes closed. Warm, all the way down her spine, that unfurled sensation that says - despite it all that it meant to come here, all she had left behind, this is her home, now, and she loves it dearly. Wholly.
A quiet hum of confirmation, as she indulges herself as kisses Lakshmi’s neck. Just the once - still behaving, mostly.
“I know no other way, with you.”
They had their struggles, yes, spats sometimes and things had been so hard in the beginning, but now the good so far outweighed the difficulties. What challenges were there were ones to be faced together, rather than in opposition to one another. Contentment? She did not know that word’s meaning, it’s strength, before Lakshmi.
